Crawl Space Waterproofing

Let Us Fix Your Crawl Space Water Problems

Crawl spaces are one of the most overlooked parts of the today’s homes. They represent an important area of your home for accessing everything from electrical work to plumbing, but they are also some of the biggest sources of moisture and mold issues that often go undetected until serious problems arise. The air that is in your crawl space also affects up to 60% of the air in your livable space, which can effect the health of your entire family, especially those with asthma, allergies, or sensitivities to mold and mildew.

Crawl space waterproofing can include one or more of the following procedures: French drain along footings, sump pumps, gravity drains, vapor barrier, and dehumidifiers.

How Water Gets in Your Crawl Space

After heavy rains, dirt-covered, open-vented crawl spaces easily allow moisture to seep up from the ground, and/or enter through your foundation walls through hydrostatic pressure. Because water can easily get under your home, often it will pool up and leave areas of standing water for days, or weeks at a time.

This can cause moisture issues, create a breeding ground for mold, attract unwanted pests, and, ultimately damage the structure of your home.

Signs of Water Intrusion

Most people don’t visit their crawl spaces often so water problems can often go undetected for a long time. Here are some signs of moisture issues:

Our Approach to Crawl Space Encapsulation

When we come out to your home, we will thoroughly inspect your situation to determine exactly what needs to be done and prepare a written estimate for the project.

Once we address the water intrusion and moisture issues, we can encapsulate your crawl space, which will improve air quality, reduce heating & cooling costs up to 60% and increase usable space for your family.

Encapsulation involves the installation of insulation boards on outside walls, sealing all foundation vents. Then lay non reinforced plastic (min. of 10 mil) along floors, up walls and pillars. All seams are sealed with tape to ensure no moisture escapes into crawl space. Lastly, we install a dehumidifier that is designed specifically for crawl spaces, which helps keep the humidity levels low and prevent mold and mildew issues. We do offer a maintenance plan for all dehumidifiers we install.

Everything we do is backed by our 7 Year Transferable Warranty and we offer 1, 3, and 5 year maintenance options for our pumps to keep them inspected, serviced and working property. We are committed to making sure your family and home are safe.
